Sniff it!

Ok, so I love me some of this candle! I think that is smells like a gay guy. Well, not like smoke, alcohol, and last night's sex - but like a cologne that a gay guy would wear. So, I bought one of the ones that plug into the outlet for my room. It's smells lovely!

What's your fave Yankee Candle?

Dreamgirls Update!

That's right kids ... DREAMGIRLS IS THE SHIT!!!! Oh my lord, it is such a good movie. And Jennifer Hudson is AWESOME! Jamie Foxx - not so awesome.

So, go see it. It's a great movie, and it's fun to watch black people get weirded out when they see white people at the movie!

Coffee Lesbians and such...

OH MY GOD! I hate people!

It's freaking coffee. Why do people have to be such assholes about coffee?

So, there is a coffee lesbian. She comes in like, 2 or 3 times a day and orders this INSANE drink, with extra shots, nonfat milk, no whip cream, and like 25 pumps of vanilla syrup. Now, for a NORMAL person, this drink would come with 5 pumps of vanilla. THIS CRAZY LESBIAN wants 25 pumps? Seriously? Has munching on carpet completely killed your taste buds? Oh, and don't you dare ask her to repeat her rediculously weird order. Like we have to learn what she wants in our training, and us NOT knowing it is completely ubsurd. And you better not be slow making it either. Or she'll get mad.

Then, today, there was the "fresh coffee" guy. So, he comes in and asks for just brewed coffee. So, I fill his cup, but he got the last of what was brewed. He askes if it is fresh - it had been brewed for 30 min. Now, coffee is good for an hour. And I told him this. He takes the coffee. He comes back a few minutes later. Says he doesn't want it and wants me to brew fresh coffee. I said ok, but it'll be a few minutes - I had to brew fresh coffee anyway. So, I give him his NEW coffee, and he asks for the number for the store. I get it for him, and he procedes to chew me out, saying that he has gotten coffee from Starbucks for years, and he didn't appreciate me agruing with him, blah blah blah.

Umm, HELLO! You didn't ask for fresh coffee! You asked if it was fresh. I told you. You accepted. DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE! Next time, I will grind the beans, then brew them, then making him drink straight from the fucking POT! How's that for fresh?

Don't fuck with people who make your coffee. We are angry, caffinated people. We are dangerous!

Happy WHORE-lidays!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!! I hope that everyone's holiday is starting off on a good note! :)

Well, last night, I attended my friends Chelsea and Chris' X-mas party. Now, I was supposed to be a co-host for this party, but now that I have 2 jobs, I really have no time for anything else but eating and sleeping! But, I did attend the party, and they did a great job!

It was your typical gay party - lots of little queers running around being great, a few straight girls, a lesbian or two, and some random straight guys who are only there for the alcohol. And speaking of alcohol - there was PLENTY! There were peppermint and snowball martinis ... and there was Chel's Rum Punch. Well, it surely did punch - me in the head. Oof, it was a rough morning!

Now, no good gay party is done without a little drama. So, here it is!

Well, one of our friends is notorious for liking the young boys. Notorious as in "on his criminal record." Anyway, he shows up with these two guys. CLEARLY underage. Well, we named them Pedialite and Symilac. Then, Chelsea called our friend Colonel Sanders. I about lost it! So, it WAS Christmas with Colonel Sanders!

Overall, a lovely night! Thanks Chels and Chris! Love you guys!

WOO HOO!!!!

I HAVE THE DAY OFF!!!! YEAH!!!!
Well, I do still have to go coach the high school kids, but that's no big deal. I have things that I need to do, but, I rather just be lazy. Hmm, day off - fun times!

Something smells different...

So, I'm now spending my weekends with high school kids. I'm coaching the speech and drama team at Teurlings High School here in Lafayette, and they have tournaments on the weekends. So, I'm there with our other coaches, and we make sure that all the kids get to their rounds on time, and we check on how they are doing, blah blah blah.

Well, we have lots of time where we are just sitting around and talking to coaches from other schools and stuff. And of course, we wonder who is gay. Well, our head coach, Josette Surrat, has NO gaydar. She is hilarious. So, my brother and I have been trying to help her recognize the gays. It's SO funny, and really makes the time pass by.

She also has a habit of saying really rude things, but not meaning to. It just kinda comes out of her mouth. Like, the other day, she said, "Black people smell different." She didn't mean to be rude, but it's true, they do smell a little different - it's the products they use and stuff. Anyway, we decided that Josette needs to write a book called "Something Smells Different - The Wit and Wisdom of Josette Surrat!" Look for it in bookstores soon!

So, sorry I haven't been blogging as much. I've been working like a crazy person, and spending my weekends outing people! ;)
Oh, wanna test your gaydar. Click HERE!

The Casey Update!

So, here's a little update on what I've been up to.

Well, I finished my first week at Starbucks. It feels like more than just a week! I trained during the beginning of the week, and I was thrown to the wolves the rest of the week. I was working the front register - which sounds pretty easy. But I've figured it out ... it's all about multi-tasking. You have to be able to do about 7 things at one time. I'm getting the hang of it, but there are moments where I just stand there and stare into space, or when I suddenly can't remember how to do anything. But, I'm getting some good feedback from everyone, so that makes me feel better. Now, once I start doing something new, I'll fuck that up and they'll hate me again! :)

So, I've also been coaching the Speech team at Teurlings Catholic High. They are an awesome team full of very talented kids. I was at a tournament ALL DAY Saturday, but the kids did really well, and we even took home the 1st place Sweepstakes trophy, which means that overall, our school did the best. It was nice to know that they won ... AND I HELPED!! Good times!

Besides that, life's been pretty calm. It's nice being home, and spending time with my family. My mom and I decorated the X-mas tree ... and we've been getting rave reviews. It's all decorated in silver ornaments with white lights ... I'll have to take a picture and post it. But, it's nice being home. I do miss tour a little ... not dancing in a big furry suit, but the people, and the fun times we all had!

So, that's about it. I haven't had time to blog because I've been so busy with work. Oof, 9-5 is hard!

Wednesday, November 29, 2006

umm ... what?

So, I've started my lovely new job at Starbucks.

And you know what ... I never knew coffee could be so complicated!

I mean, it's not THAT difficult. But it's learning something new - which I haven't had to do in a few years. And Starbucks is like the "Disney" of coffee. There is this HUGE training booklet that you have to go through, and all these rules, and procedures, and this, that, and the other!

Training is going ok. I mean, we read over something, and talk about it, and I'm ok. Then when I go to actually do it, I become totally retarded. I'm sure after a little practice I'll be fine, but I feel like a goober.

But hey, I'm getting paid for it!

Lethargic...

Yup, that's me. Lethargic.
I have been insanely lazy. No work this week. No ballet class this week. Just eating, and drinking a little. And lots and lots of sleep.

Well, it's all ending Monday. I start at Starbucks, and straight from there I head to the high school. After that, right to dance class. Oh, what a day. Then, do it all over again the next day!

I'm kinda looking forward to being so busy. But, I'm afraid that I am going to be dead tired. Well, thank God for caffine!

Happy Turkey Day!

HELL!

Boo! Cox Communications is a retard. So, our cable goes out all the time. I mean, we kinda live out in the boonies, but still!

And yesterday, the cable went out. Right around Oprah time! Well, when the cable goes out, the internet and the phone goes with it. Well, cable came back. Then the phone. But the internet was GONE!

And it stayed that way ALL NIGHT! Seems we needed to reboot the router, but I had no idea how to do that. I was without the internet ALL NIGHT!

I know, I'm addicted.

Cruisin'

This weekend - well, Sunday - I drove on over to see my girl, Christina. Christina and I toured together for a while, and were roommates a bunch. When we toured internationally, we decided that we were tour husband and wife, and that these worldly excursions were our honeymoon!

Well, she is currently dancing for Carnival Cruises on the Conquest. They port in Galveston, TX so I decided to drive the few hours to visit her. I also went to visit Steve, one of the guys who dances with her. Christina brought Steve to see Sesame Street when were were in Ft. Lauderdale. Steve's a great guy ... and Australian. :)

So, I drove down there and hung out with them for the afternoon. We had a great little afternoon - catching up, taking them to Target, and having lunch at Chili's.

It sucks that I couldn't have spent more time with them. It makes me want to book a cruise so I can see them for a whole week! Or maybe work on the dancing some more, audition, and go work with them!

So, to those two - miss you guys, and hope to see you again soon!!!

Party time! Excellent!

THANKSGIVING WEEK! WOO HOO! I'm way excited about Thursday. I can't wait to eat myself into a food coma! Yummy!

But, the sucky part about this week. Well, I don't start a Starbucks 'til next week, and school is out for the week, so I'm not working there either. That leaves me with nothing to do but dance class.

blah!

So, I'm bored. And on a budget.

Hoorah! :(

Whatever, whatever.

Last night, I went out with my friend Chelsea. We went see a dance concert at the college and after, we decided to get a bite to eat before we hit the bar.

So, we drove to Taco Bell. Now, it's a Friday night at around 9:45. And there is NO WHERE to park at the Taco Bell. Seriously? I didn't know that Taco Bell was such a popular hangout?

Well, we park, and we go in, and we are eating. Well, Chelsea and I overhear a conversation that is happening at a table behind Chels. Now, I can see these two girls, and they are total sorority material. So, we hear this ...

"I was like, Fuck her, whatever whatever."

Well, that made us laugh. But it got better.

"And I was like, It's Twister!"

The girl continued to tell a story of game night gone wrong. Apparently, the "other" girl played the game differntly, and yelled at this girl, and this girl started crying and ran into the kitchen, and it was all a big deal. Meanwhile, Chels and I are choking on tacos.

This is Jeopardy!

I love this show! Having so much time off has given me a chance to watch this every day, and I love it. You'd be surprised how much random information you actually know. And, I love when there is a category that I actually know something about, cause then I can answer all the questions!
I'm sure if I was actually on the show I would suck royally. Oh well.

A thought....

Dance belts.

They aren't comfortable.

Good night/ Bad night

So, I went out last night. I went out by myself, planning on meeting up with people. That's the great thing about being back home - you are bound to run into at least ONE person you know at the bar!

Anyway, I went, and actually ran into many people I knew. I got a drink, scanned the bar for friends, and settled into a little group, catching up and making small talk.

Then a guy walked by. A guy that I swore I went to high school with. I asked my friend if it was him - and, in fact, it WAS! I love running into guys from high school. I mean, I came out my junior year, so to run into people now is just hilarious. So, he came back by, I introduced myself, he got a little freaked out, blah blah. But, as the night went on, he chilled out, and we all ended up on the dance floor having a good time! I hope I run into him again, so we can catch up more!

Now the bad part of the night. See, there is this other guy who keeps asking me out to lunch or coffee. Which is usually not a big deal, except for the fact that this boy has a boyfriend. Now, that's not a good reason not to have lunch with someone, but .... he's not all that interesting to begin with.
Anyway, I saw him out, across the bar. Now, the bar is PACKED with people, so I didn't want to force my way thru the bar to say hi. Well, later he comes up to me all bitchy-like and says, "So, you aren't going to say hi to me?" Well, with that attitude, NO! I'm not. Well, he got all upset, and continued to tell me how much of a bitch I was, so I just went along with it, and continued to be a bitch. I mean, he already thought I was bitchy, why not just go with it. Well, I doubt that he'll be asking me to lunch anytime soon!
So, that was my night out! Oh, and I barely drank! Jeez!

Where's Waldo?

So, life back home. For the most part, things are going well. I started taking dance classes. Although they are kicking my ass, I'm having a good time, and getting some good feedback from the teachers and students. I still feel like a complete moron in class, but it'll get better in time.

The job hunt was gone well. I've been hired at Starbucks ... but I don't start 'til the 27th. Which is nice - I get to enjoy my Thanksgiving! I'm also assistant coaching the drama team at a high school here in town. So, still doing the theatre stuff, too! And I'm sure I'll be helping my brother with shows here and there, and maybe eventually I'll actually BE in one!

The social life part of being home kinda sucks. It's hard to jump into a group of people. People have there little groups - it's hard to break the circle, ya know? I have a few friends here, but it's still odd. I've been gone for a while, and trying to catch up is difficult.

But I'm sure that things will pan out, and I'll get into a groove, and all will be well. I miss tour, and always having someone to hang out with. But, a new chapter, a new challenge! I've just got to get Waldo to Lafayette!

OH YEAH!

I had the weirdest craving the other day. It was for Kool-Aid. Now, I can't tell you the last time that I had Kool-Aid, but when I was younger we had it all the time. And what was my favorite flavor?

Red.

What's crazier that having a craving for Kool-Aid? The fact that my mom actually HAD Kool-Aid in the house! OH YEAH! So, I whipped up some Kool-Aid and felt like a 7 year old again!

LLAMA! LLAMA FACE!!!

So, my friend James gets really bored at work and sends me links to these crazy ass websites. Who knows where he finds these things.
So, he sent me one about this llama ranch. You can go and ride a llama! How freakin' fun is that? It's all your dreams come true.
Then I read this :
What if you're really attached to that llama you ride? No problem! Just sign up for the Llama Weekender™ package. Bob will take your favorite llama, and turn it into some great items. You'll get:
2 Llama Coats
2 Llama Safari-Style Hats
1 Set of Llama Auto Seat Covers
20 Pounds of Ground Llama
10 Pounds of Llama Chops
EWW! I don't want to ride a llama, and then have you kill it so I can take it home to wear and eat it! That's gross!
" Hey Kathy! How was your llama riding vacation?"
"Well Sue, I loved it. I rode Mohhamed, and loved him so much, I had him killed. Oh, here's a coat!"
Nasty!

At the bar...

Last night a bunch of us went to the bar. The ballet bar.

Yah, I went and took a ballet class. I'll admit - I had a good time. Although, I felt like a complete moron at times!

Here I am, in a room with about 7 other dancers - WHO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING - and then there is me, trying to fake it!

Well, I must have done some of it right, because my legs are KILLING me today!

I am looking forward to getting into some classes while I am home, and hopefully one day I can look as cool as this guy in his legwarmers! Work it gurl!

Chicago...

I've been thinking about what I am going to do after tour. I know that I am going home to Louisiana for a while, but I also know that I don't want to stay there forever. I've thought about NYC - but recently I've been thinking of Chicago. Thanks to the wonderful world of blogging, I've met lots of cool people from there. Also, I've had a few friends move there. I've heard it's like NYC, but a little watered down. From Chargenda's blog, there are some great places to eat, so I won't go hungry! What do you guys think???

Difrankenstein!

See that lady in the middle? That's Dawn. She was my manager for 2 years, plus a few weeks overseas. Yah, she put up with THAT much of my bullshit!
Anyway, she lives in Raliegh in a brand new little gingerbread house that she bought cause she's all grown up and off of tour. So, we ( my manager Jeff, my performance director Christa, our sound guy Mike, and I) are hopping in a car and going down to visit her. YAH!
I can't wait to see her new house, and drink some wine, and I am sure that she will talk about herself for a few hours. And by few, I mean that entire time that we are there, give or take a few minutes! ;)
So, here's to Dawn. I can't wait for the chicken parm!!!

But, this is our last week in Florida. Next week, we leave the Sunshine state and head to Charlotte, NC. Then, LAFAYETTE, LA!!! And then I am done. WOO HOO!
