In Korea...

Ok, so here we are in Korea. We've been here a few days, and we are getting acclimated. At first it was kinda scary - the language barrier, the strange food, ect. But things are getting easier!

In the first few days we were here, we did a little exploring. One day we walked around the streets just looking around, and another day, we hopped on the subway to a place that someone recommended. Well, we stumbled on a Korean palace. It was awesome, and there was also a Korean Folk museum there - so we learned a lot, too.

Here are a few pics ...

We also started shows - and whew - it's been a while. That first show was ROUGH! I thought I was going to die. But, the shows the next day felt a bit easier. I am sore as all hell, but I think it'll get better...

We've also had some fun while we are here. We went out to the club area -Itaewon - and had a good ol' time. And, I've found Starbucks here - OF COURSE!!! Haha!

Overall, we are having fun, and can't wait for all the other cities we are headed to.

So long, Farewell!

Yah, I'm leavin'. On a jet plane. But I know when I'll be back again! :)

Tomorrow I fly out for my 2 month gig touring with Sesame Street again. Two months in Asia. Jeez!

And yes, I am currently avoiding packing! :)

I just wanted to say that the past 6 months in Lafayette have been great. Wow, 6 months! It doesn't feel that long. In that time, I got a great job - 2 actually - that I can't wait to come back to. I met some amazing people, and reconnected with some even more amazing people. I will miss all of you, and I promise - I'll be back!

But, it's off to Asia. And I'm really looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to taking a step away from everything, and reevaluating things. I'm looking forward to the new experiences, and exploring new countries. I'm looking forward to shopping and buying things so I can come home and say, "Oh this, I got it in Asia!" HAHA!

But, just wanted to let all you blogreaders know that I AM taking my computron with me, but who knows what the internet will be like. But, I'll take lots of pics and try to keep up with the blogging!

Also, check me out on MYSPACE! Friend me BETCH!

Love all y'alls!

Last Dance...

Tonight is my last night at Starbucks before I leave for tour. Aww ... sad face!

I've had so much fun working there the past 6 months. I never would have imagined that I would have enjoyed it so much. But, in that time, I have made some amazing friends and I REALLY do enjoy working there ... give or take the assholes that come in and yell at me for stupid stuff.

I also love the impact that we make on people. I mean, you'd think that it's just coffee, but you'd be surprised how much you impact people's lives. It's nice having customers recognize you when they come and, and they are happy to see you. It's also nice to have customers say that they'll miss you. I know - mushy huh?

Anyway, tonight is my last night - my last dance - hence the picture of Donna Summer! Haha. It's a long shift - so, get ready for 8 hrs of FUN!!!

Oh, and I'll so miss my discount. :(

BIRTHDAY!!!

That's right kids! That time has come .... My birthday is tomorrow, May 20th! Well, not just my birthday, but also my brother's - and no ... we are not twins!

So, I just want to give a shout out to my brother Cody. You rock! I went back and read what I wrote about you last year, and I still feel the same ... or even more. It's been awesome being back in town and getting to work with you - not only with the speech kids, but with Life/Play. You have been and still are the one who makes the road a little easier to travel. Thanks for all of the opporitunities that you have given me. And I must say that I am so proud of the things that you have been experiencing lately. I am glad to see that eventually the clouds do roll away and the sun shines down on us.

Here's to another year gone by, and many more headed our way.

Call Waiting

Ok, ya know what I hate?

When people call to make plans with you ... but never call to finalize the plans!

I'm cool ... I don't have all night to wait for a phone call! I have other people to grace with my presence!

Grr.

Get Real!

Ok, so I think my mom has an addiction. Well, me, too. It's to reality TV! That right, we watch everything. Dancing with the Stars, AI, ANTM, Sheer Genius .... all of it!

It's to the point where my mom would fake a family crisis just to get Ty Pennington to come and build us a house.

Are our lives so boring that we have to watch people compete in these rediculous competitions? Well, if there was one for watching the most reality TV, my mom would totally win! :)

What's this???

Congrats, Jaslene!

Alright mama! You better look and act like a drag queen and win ANTM! Work it!

Rehearsals....

Thursday I flew to Charlottesville, VA for rehearsals for the tour that I am going on. Fun times!

Well, not all fun times. See, I hate travel days. It seems like things just have to go wrong. Things can't just run smoothly! My flight was at 7AM in Baton Rouge, so I had to leave my house at 4AM to drive the hour to get to the airport on time. Well, I left closer to 5AM so I was getting worried about time. I made it there with time to spare so I thought that all was good. Then trouble - my flight was delayed because it was in maintenance. And it kept getting delayed, until I was sure that I was going to miss my connection. So, I go up and they secure me on the next connecting flight out .... at 7:55 PM!!!! SHIT!

Well, we finally took off, and I didn't miss the connection, and all was good.

Rehearsals went well, too. We learned the show in a total of about 8 hrs - which is pretty freakin' cool, considering it takes 2-3 weeks for rehearsal at the beginning of the tours. The only thing is that I haven't really done anything aerobic since I left tour in October ... AND I'M SORE! Jeez! I'm totally hitting the treadmill!

But, overall, a fun weekend. The kids in the cast seem totally fun, and I think that we are going to have a BLAST in Asia! Can't wait!

And speaking of things to do...

I totally need to pack for this weekend! I have rehearsals in Virginia for tour. AGH!

What next?

I was talking to my friend M.E. today. We were talking about the play making it to the Fringe Festival and about her summer doing Summerstock. And she asked me when I was moving to NYC to join her.

And it got me thinking...

Well, I've been thinking for a while now actually. Being back home has been a great break, and I've been happy back home. But do I want to stay here? What do I want to be doing?

Well, I'm hoping that 2 months in a foreign country provides me the time to sit and sort my life out. I'll admit, I've kinda just been letting it happen around me, and going with whatever happens. Which is nice sometimes, to just go with the flow of the world. But, I'm thinking that after tour, I need to take a little control of where things are going ... and see where the wind takes me.

He Made It! ... for real this time!

Yah, that's right!

My brother Cody's play, Life/Play, has made it into the NYC Fringe Festival - a big kick ass theatre festival. This means that we will be taking his play to NYC and performing it there! WHAT?!? We'll be performing in NYC!!!! HOLLA!!!

This is a big ol' step for him, and we are all uber excited!

YEE HAW!

Oink!

This is how I feel. Even though I know that I have rehearsals for tour next weekend, I STILL haven't done anything aerobic.

I'm such a lazy ass.
